Dengue claims one life in Mumbai
Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Dengue has claimed its first victim in Mumbai. The victim, a 19-year-old teengar identified as Vishwajeet Pandit, a resident of Juhu in suburban Mumbai died yesterday morning, said Dr B B Gajre of Asha Parekh hospital at Santacruz in north west Mumbai where he was admitted on October 2.
He was admitted with symptoms of high fever, body ache, chills and vomitting, Dr Gajre said. He added, ''The deceased's blood platelets were extremely low.'' Three more patients --Salim Khan (22), Prakash Shingare (32) and Heraje Thakur (78) -- are also undergoing treatment for dengue and they were out of danger and were responding to treatment, Dr Gajre added.
