Call rates trade flat at 6.40 - 6.50 pc level, bonds gain
Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Call rates closed flat at 6.40-6.50 per cent level as compared to the previous close.
RBI in the call money market on October four transacted Rs 18,119.76 crore at the weighted average of 6.51 per cent.
In the first Liquidity adjustment RBI transacted Rs 15,330 crore through seven bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent, whereas in the second liquidity auction RBI transacted Rs 14,020 crore through 11 bids.
However, RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.
Gilts opened on a positive note and ended with gains for second straight sessions. The eleven year bond (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) traded high at 103.01 and gave a yield of 7.64 per cent.
Today, RBI had fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 45.71/ USD compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.69/USD.
