BSI organises 5-day bible exhibition in the city

Chennai, Oct 5 (UNI) Rs 5 crore worth bibles were on display at a five-day bible exhibition here by the Bangalore based Bible Socieity of India (BSI).

Addressing newspersons soon after inaugurating the exhibition yesterday, BSI Director W R Paulraj said about 525 varieties of bibles were on display, with a price range varying between Rs 40 and Rs 3,500.

He said this year's new arrivals were talking bible, electronic bible and these imported items were displayed in the city for the first time.

While the talking bible consisting 27 books of new testament in English was made at Japan, the electronic bible in two varieties namely New International Version and King James Version was made at UK, he added.

Apart from this, for the first time they introduced handy bible in different languages and it would attract the children, he added.

BSI's Tamil Nadu Auxiliary Secretary Ebi Samuel said Rs 20 lakh worth bibles were sold during last year's exhibition and this year they were expecting more sales.
