AIR, DD employees hold gate meeting

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Employees of All India Radio and Doordarshan today held a gate meeting to put forth their various demands and to urge the Government to take necessary steps to ensure smooth functioning of Prasar Bharti.

More than 500 employees, under the banner of National federation of Akashvani and Doordarshan employees(NFADE), reiterated their demands in a meeting with the Group of Ministers under the chairmanship of Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

NFADE demanded that all expenses, including salaries, allowances and pension payable to the employees be charged upon the Consolidated Fund of India, retaining all the existing facilities of Central government employees and implementation of model of railway board for running Prasar Bharti.

The meeting, addressed by the chairman of the federation Anil Kumar, secretary general Kulbhushan Bhatia and Vice chairman Deepak Mehrotra, askedv thev members to be prepared for any measures to protect the existence of the organisation and its staff.
