Agri Univ to host international fertilizers conference

Ludhiana, Oct 5 (UNI) Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will host an International Conference on Fertilizers from November 22 to 25.

This was conveyed by PAU Vice Chancellor Dr K S Aulakh to International Potash Institute (Switzerland), India Coordinator Dr Patricia Imas a meeting here.

During her meeting here yesterday Dr Imas said she was also monitoring the application of chemical fertilizers in developed and developing countries for sustainable agricultural production.

Dr Aulakh later said that about 50 delegates from USA, Europe, Pakistan, Israel, Canada, besides, 150 delegates from within the country would take part in the four-day conference.

Dr Imas said 182 research papers will be presented during the conference.

The Chairman, National Commission on Farmers, Dr M S Swaminathan will inaugurate the conference while the Director-General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Dr Mangla Rai, will be the special guest. This confernce will be a joint effort of International Potash Institute and ICAR.
