5 per cent DA hike for Gujarat govt employees

Ahmedabad, Oct 5 (UNI) The state government employees would be given five per cent rise in dearness allowance from July 1, 2006.

The present DA is pegged at 24 per cent and it would be 29 per cent from July 1, according to an official statement here today.

With this 5 per cent hike in dearness allowance for its employees, the state government would be annually incurring an additional expenditure of Rs 273.03 crores and Rs 88 crores towards pension, according to the release.
