11 arrested for pilferage of LPG cylinders

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) The Delhi Police today arrested 11 people from east and North East parts of the capital for indulging in pilferage of LPG cylinders.

Four people were arrested from Khichripur in east Delhi while seven others were nabbed from Jagat Puri in north east Delhi yesterday for cheating domestic consumers of LPG by supplying them cylinders containing reduced quantity of the cooking Gas.

The accused used to fill the empty cooking gas cylinders from the filled ones with the help of iron pipes, thereby cheating the customers who were unaware about the reduced quantity.

Nearly 150 LPG cylinders of Indane, besides several gas refilling iron pipes were recovered from them.
