US-based Protiviti launches India operations

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) US-based Protiviti Inc, leading global provider of internal audit, business and technology risk consulting services, today launched its operations in India with the setting up of two offices, one each in the national capial and Mumbai.

The firm that will operate in the country as Protiviti Consulting Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned susidiary of Protiviti, seeks to engage itself with Indian companies across all sectors, to assist them in identifying, assesing and managing operational and technology related risks, besides internal audit, outsourcing, co-sourcing and tool implementation.

''Protiviti is targeting large private companies across all sectors. We are in talks with various companies and may come up with some development within a month's time,'' Protiviti Consulting Pvt Ltd MD Mrityunjay Kapur told reporters here.

The company has a clientele of 20 multi-nationals in India, Mr Kapur added, without divulging further details.

The company will be initially starting with a team of 12 professionals, which will be increased gradually, said Protiviti MD of Asia Pacific offices and global business expansion strategy.

It employs over 2,500 professionals worldwide.

Protiviti, a unit of New York listed staffing and consultancy services provider Robert Half International, with over 1,000 clients -- including 20 per cent of Fortune 1,000 companies in 16 countries -- has 55 offices in the US, Europe, Aiustralia and Asia, and business partners in 7 other countries.
