Two held for assaulting tribal woman

Harda, MP, Oct 4 (UNI) Two women were arrested on the charge of assaulting a tribal woman at Dend village in this district, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Lad told UNI here that Shakun Bai and Gauri Bai were arrested last night for assaulting the woman on September 29.

Mr Lad said the victim had accused six women of dragging her out of her home, garlanding her with footwear and assaulting her. Though she had not complained that an attempt was made to strip her but mentioned that her clothes were torn during the assault.

Mr Lad said the other side also accused the woman of calling a minor to her place on September 29. The minor was allegedly harassed by a youth named Madan Deshwali.

A case has also been registered in this connection.
