Thomas Cook India launches new premium brand '100 pc Holidays'

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Spreading its wings from already existing corporate travelling and financial services to leisure travelling, Thomas Cook India Ltd (TCIL), which is operating in the country today announced the launch of its new premium holidays brand - '100 per cent Holidays'.

The new brand will be used for the company's product offerings in the international group holidays segment as well as for the customised individual holidays segment.

Briefing the media after the launch here today, the TCIL MD, Madhavan Menon, said that the '100 pc Holidays' brand will operate as a product brand under the corporate Thomas Cook brand.'' The brand will be positioned as a premium holidays brand in this segment, he added.

Gautam Sharma, Head-Marketing of TCIL, said that we are now in over 50 cities with the LKP Forex network. Apart from the national multimedia advertising campaign, the brand is being launched with a unique 'Bid and Win' live on the air auction of 100 holiday packages to Hong Kong on TV. The holiday packages are worth Rs 35,000 each and bidding starts from Rs 5,000 only, he added. The activity is in partnership with CNN IBN and CNBC and the live on air auction will be on October eight.

The leisure ravel division of the company promotes domestic inbound/outbound holidays. It operates over 40 group inclusive tours (GIT) to leading destinations in all five continents and also promotes free individual travel (FIT) to over 50 countries around the globe.

Replying to a media query, Mr Menon said that 25 per cent of the revenues of his company was coming from its travel services. The market capitalisation of TCIL was Rs 734 crore and the current share price of its share was Rs 503.

With an idea to use cricket to build launch impact, TCIL is sponsoring ICC Champions' Trophy which begins on October seven.

Though the new brand is meant to tap foreign going outbound travellers only, the company has its plans to extend it to domestic holiday segment too in days to come, the Executive Director of the company, Robin Banerjee said.
