Temperature on rise as monsoon recedes from Rajasthan

Jaipur, Oct 4 (UNI) With the monsoon receding from the state, the day temperature have risen considerably providing little respite to people.

Many places in the state are recording temperature above 40 degree Celsius and the heat has become intense in the past few days.

The state capital today recorded a maximum of 39.4 degree Celsius which is 5 degree above normal. Ajmer recorded 39 degree Celsius, Kota 38, Udaipur 38 and Bikaner 41 degrees.

Sriganganagar mapped 41.7 degree Celsius while Bikaner recorded 41 degree yesterday.

The weather office says the south-west monsoon has already receded from the state and the temperature will continue to hover around 40 degree Celsius over the next three days.

The monsoon arrived 15-20 days late in the state on June 30 this year. While normally the monsoon recedes by September 15, this year it bid goodbye in the first week of October.

Banswara district recorded 1787.80 mm rains - the maximum this year while Bikaner recorded 126.56 mm the minimum this season.
