Sri Lankan held for using fake passport

Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) Airport police arrested a 26-year-old Sri Lankan national for trying to fly to Italy via Colombo by using a bogus passport at Anna International airport here last night.

Police said S Paranthaman, hailing from Trincomalee, came to Bangalore with a Sri Lankan Passport sometime in July last. He came here to catch the Colombo-bound Air Sahara flight.

He produced a passport and other travel documents before the immigration authorities, which they found were bogus.

Later, he was handed over to local police, who arrested him and remanded him to judicial custody, police said.
