Servant, accomplice arrested in Civil Lines robbery-cum-murder case

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Police today claimed to have solved yesterday's daring robbery-cum-murder in Civil Lines area of North Delhi with the arrest of two teenagers, including the domestic help.

The servant Mukesh Kumar (18) was arrested, along with his accomplice Vijay Kumar alias Monu (19), after he gave different versions of yesterday evening's incident. Monu was working as a painter in the house of deceased Charanjeet Kaur, police added.

After sustained interrogation Mukesh accepted that he had killed Ms Charanjit. His accomplice Monu was also arrested after his involvement came to light following the questioning.

A bag containing the robbed amount Rs 2,213,000, two kitchen knives and a mobile phone were recovered from their possession, police added.

Charanjeet Kaur, wife of Gurcharan Singh, was found lying in a pool of blood at her Raj Niwas Marg residence in Civil Lines yesterday at about 2000 hrs. She was declared brought dead when rushed to the hospital.
