Rain in coastal Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 4 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at a many places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall(cm): Yellapura 6, Karwar 5, Yedwad, Shirali 4 each, Gerusoppa, Panambur 3 each, Mangalore AP, Madikeri 2 each, Mulki, Kiravatti, Honavar, Agumbe 1 each.

Maximum temperatures appreciably rose at most places over North Interior Karnataka, rose at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were below normal over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka. Minimum temperatures changed little and were normal over the State.

Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 33.1 deg. Celsius and Chamarajnagara recorded lowest minimum temperature of 19.1 deg.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at most places over Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada districts, at a few places over Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Bijapur, Bagalkote, Chikmagalur, Kodagu and Shimoga, klr, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban, Mysore Mandya, Chamarajnagara districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of light to moderate rain. Maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 30 deg. Celsius and 19 deg. Celsius respectively.
