Pvt varsities in Haryana to reserve 25% seats for state students

Yamunanagar, Oct 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the government has made it mandatory for private universities to be set up in the state to reserve 25 per cent seats for students hailing from Haryana.

The Haryana assembly recently passed a bill which seeks to allow setting up of private universities in the state.

Such universities would also have to reserve 10 per cent seats for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Mr Hooda said while talking to media persons here.

Five per cent students out of the 25 per cent reserved seats for the state would be granted full fee exemption.

The Chief Minister said the government had decided to set up private universities in the state to strengthen the education system and provide quality education to the students.
