People of Jampui affected due to landslides

Agartala, Oct 4 (UNI) Road link to the Tripura's North District were badly affected due to landslides on different places on the Kanchanpur-Jampui hill road here.

A police official of Bhangmun told UNI today that though Border Road Organisation (BRO) had been carrying out the restoration works on the road. But the work was hampered as the area had been experiencing heavy downpour since last few days.

Communication has been disrupted and people were facing problems while travelling as almost all the roads were in a dilapidated condition.

Vehicles are unable to ply on the road because of landslides on this main linking road here.

State PWD Chief Engineer B Nandi Majumder, however, said he had no knowledge about the condition of the roads and said would enquire about the situation.
