Pen, toys not allowed into Kashi Vishwanath complex
Varanasi, Oct 4 (UNI) Those carrying pen or toys will not be allowed entry into the highly sensitive Gyanwapi-Kashi Vishwanath complex here.
Additional Police Superintendent (Gyanwapi-Security) Jugal Kishore Tiwari told UNI here today taking pen inside the complex -- housing the world famous and reverred Kashi Vishwanath temple -- has been banned with immediate effect.
This has been done following intelligence inputs about a serious security threat from explosive stashed in a pen.
''Similar explosives have been used in a few cases by ultras in USA and other countries and decision to ban pen into the complex has been only taken keeping in mind this aspect,'' Mr Tiwari maintained.
Mr Tiwari, however, clarified the ban will not apply to those residing in the red zone of the complex -- the most sensitive of three-tier security. Besides, accredited media personnel will also be allowed to carry pen into the complex.
The ASP said all types of toys, especially electronic ones, had also been banned from the complex owing to security reasons.
