Multi-play broadband facility in Goa for value added services

Panaji, Oct 4 (UNI) Goa will soon have the facility of viewing high definition films, video and other shows through ''multi-play broad band'' facility readied by the year end.

Disclosing this to media persons here today, Goa telecom General Manager A K Sesarkar said the capacity of the broadband connectivity had almost been saturated and it was being increased to provide 7,000 more connections soon.

This apart, the multi-play broad band facility, for which tendering process had begun, would go a long way in providing value added services to the clientale.

At present, the Goa telecom had given 6,000 broadband connections and the demand had been on rise with quality service, he said.

Every village will have the mobile phone facility soon with the authorities ordering for six crore mobile sets for the country, of which one lakh sets were meant for Goa, he added.
