Menon, Duggal discuss Mumbai blast follow up
New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Newly-appointed Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon today held discussion with Home Secretary V K Duggal in the context of availability of fresh evidence to prove the involvement of ISI-sponsored terrorists in the July 11 Mumbai serial blasts in suburban trains and the Malegaon blast last month.
The meeting at the Home Ministry's office in North Block assumed significance as it came immediately after a 30-minute long meeting Mr Duggal had with Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) chief K P Raghuvanshi who reportedly discussed with him the progress in the probe into the Mumbai and Malegaon blasts.
The situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East, which had implications in India's relations with neighbouring countries, also reportedly figured.
Besides Mr Menon and Mr Duggal, Joint Secretaries in the Home Ministry in charge of Jammu and Kashmir, North East and Foreigners also attended the meeting.
