Lalu flags off Motihari-Porbandar express

Motihari, Oct 5 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today flagged off Motihari-Porbandar express here, a weekly train connecting both the places besides formally rechristening Motihari railway station as Bapudham Motihari station.

Addressing a function organised on the occasion, Lalu said within a short span of time during his tenure, railway had turned into a profit making undertaking with a sum of whopping Rs 20,000 crore recorded so far. He said that several steps had been taken to push the railway on the fast track of progress which would achieve the number one status among the top railways of the world.

The Railway minister said that close circuit TVs would be installed at important railway stations of the country to foil any attempt of the disruptive forces to create havoc and terror at crowded stations.

He said almost 7.5 thousand stations would be laced with facilities for storage and booking facilities of agro products which would help the farmers in getting requisite prices of their produce.
