Kerala HC adjourns hearing on SIMI activists' bail plea
Kochi, Oct 4 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today adjourned by two weeks a hearing on the bail application of five activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), arrested by the police on Independence Day this year from Panayikulam near Aluva.
Mr Justice J M James adjourned the matter after Director General of Prosecution P G Thampy opposed the bail pleas and sought time to produce some records before the court.
The Binanipuram Police had arrested Shaduli Erattupetta and four others on August 15. Although police apprehended 18 people who were attending a meeting at Panayikulam, a case was registered against five persons only for indulging in unlawful activities and for entering into a criminal conspiracy.
