Indian set to cash in on skilled manpower demand in Canada
Kolkata, Oct 04 (UNI) With demand for international skilled professionals growing in Canada, India is set to be a major source country for skilled workers, global resettlement solutions company Worldwide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) said today.
With regions like Alberta growing economically owing to the huge oil exploration activities and the demographic factors such as low birth rate, the need for skilled manpower is bound to grow to meet the manpower shortfall, WWICS chairman and managing director Col.
B.S.Sandhu said here.
Around 2,000 Canadian companies are surfing the website of WWICS's placement website Global Placement Services (GPS) to search for skilled manpower, Col. Sandhu said.
To meet the demand of the Canadian companies, WWICS has set up Canadian Institute of International Studies in Chandigarh for orientation of the trained professionals in line with the demand of global standards.
WWICS has tied up with Thompson College and Gorgia College for providing professional training to the immigrants.
Apart from providing training to the professionals seeking immigration to Canada, WWICS would also carry out the documentation and formalities required for obtaining work visa for the intending immigrant.
The total cost for immigration, placement and resettlement would cost the intending candidate around Rs 95,000, Col Sandhu said.
India presently stands second after China as the source country for skilled worker immigration category followed by Philippines, UK and rest of Europe, he said.
Last year around 33,000 Indians immigrated to Canada mostly to cities like Toranto, Vancouver and Montreal among others, he added.
