Five killed in two road mishaps
Bangalore, Oct 4 (UNI) Five people, including two teenagers, were killed and 18 others were injured in two road mishaps in Karnataka, today.
Police said three people were killed on the spot and 18 were injured when a tempo in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary tipper lorry near Agadi cross on Pune-Bangalore national highway in Hubli. The victims were returning to their village after attending a fair at Sagar in Shimoga district when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Basanagouda Patil (35), Sakre Nayak (45) and Mugbasappa (45) of Dharwad district. The injured were admitted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubli.
In the other mishap, two teenagers were killed on the spot when the tractor in which they were travelling turned turtle at Hunasgi village in Shurpur taluk, about 75 km from Gulbarga.
Police said the deceased were identified as Hanumantha Rao Pujari (14) and Jatappa (15).
