Digvijay not interested in becoming part of Union Cabinet
Guna, MP, Oct 4 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has said he had no interest in becoming part of the Union Cabinet and will like to work for the party.
Mr Singh told reporters at his hometown Raghogarh, about 45 km from here, yesterday that the ruling BJP was destroying the spirit of cooperative movement in the state and described the nominations by the BJP in this sector as totally incorrect.
He said the manner in which the state government was dissolving elected cooperatives on certain reasons, put a question mark over nomination of ministers and legislators in these cooperatives.
On handing over more responsibility to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said Mr Gandhi himself felt he needed more experience and was working in that direction.
Mr Singh revealed that the names of the candidates will be finalised for Vidisha and Malehara by-elections before October 13.
On the state government lifting a ban on government officials refraining them from taking part in RSS activities, he appealed to the government officials to keep away from RSS programmes or else a close vigil will be kept on them when the Congress comes back to power.
On whether a convention similar to 'Dabra Sammelan' was required to maintain better coordination between Congressmen, he said Congress workers were already united and there was no need for any convention.
