CPI demands arrest of JD(U) MLA

Patna, Oct 4 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) today demanded immediate arrest of JD(U) MLA Ram Pravesh Rai for his involvement in the attack on the residence of one Feroz Khan in which a woman was killed.

Party state secretary Badri Narain Lal termed the JD(U) MLA's behaviour was abhorrent and condemnable as two woman were injured of which one succumbed in the attack by goons, patronised by Mr Rai.

He also demanded suspension of police superintendent of Chhapra as the district police was not sincere in arresting Mr Rai and was only engaged in lip service by conducing few raids to befool the local people who were furious after the incident.

JD(U) has large number of MLAs with criminal antecedents and such incidents had occurred due to soft approach of the NDA government in dealing with criminals, he alleged.
