Brazil's Edmilson to miss friendlies
RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct 4 (Reuters) Midfielder Edmilson has been ruled out of Brazil's friendlies against Kuwait and Ecuador because of a knee injury, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said.
Edmilson would need physiotherapy after taking a knock on his right knee, the CBF said yesterday. Sao Paulo midfielder Mineiro will take his place.
Edmilson was forced to pull out of Brazil's squad for this summer's World Cup finals after suffering a serious knee injury when the team were preparing for the tournament. He was replaced by Mineiro on that occasion as well.
Brazil are away to Kuwait on Saturday and play Ecuador in Stockholm three days later.
The five-times world champions are unbeaten in three matches under new coach Dunga, who replaced Carlos Alberto Parreira after the World Cup in Germany.
