Bowmick has not resigned: Ahmed

Kolkata, Oct 04 (UNI) Mohameddan Sporting Secretary Sultan Ahmed said coach Subhas Bhowmik has not resigned from the club.

Talking to UNI, Ahmed said, ''He has not come for practice today as he got sentimental after Douglas D'Silva was sacked for his lack of form and fitness.'' ''He will come to the club tomorrow and we will have a talk and after that things will progress fruitfully. I hope things will resume smoothly,'' he added.

However, Subhas Bhowmik refused to talk on that issue.

It was learnt that Bhowmick has bid adieu to Mohameddan Sporting as he thought it best to resign while there was time or he may be unceremoniously removed at some point.

Douglas D'Silva has not been playing well in the Premier League of IFA, but Bhowmick had asked him to raise his game in the next three matches that remained and prove his point.

However, the black-white club, known for hasty decisions, sacked Douglas and that was seen a clash of ego between the club and the coach.
