BJP demands enquiry in Ring Road project scam

Visakhapatnam, Oct 4 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary B Dattatreya today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government should order an enquiry by a Supreme Court Judge on the 3500-crore Ring Road project scam.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the state government was not providing employment and ensuring farmers welfare in the state.

Mr Dattatreya said the State Election Committee (SEC) would review the meeting at Hyderabad on October six to formulate strategy for council election in December, 2006.

He criticised the Congress in the state for Oxwegan Ring Road scam and urged for an all-party meeting to discuss measures taken during the last two-and-half-years for improving the farmers plight in the state.

He also charged state Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy of falsely promising that two lakh jobs would be provided every six months, soon after swearing-in.
