APSRTC Chairman appeals to employees to avoid strike
Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Chairman Gone Prakasha Rao today appealed to employees and workers to avoid the proposed strike.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Prakasha Rao said the organization was not in a position to hike basic wages by 18 per cent as demanded by the recognised National Majdoor Union (NMU).
He said the organization was recovering from losses incurred over the years just now and a strike by employees would be fatal for the very existence of the corporation.
Mr Rao urged the workers not to create a situation where the organization would have to be closed, like other public sector units in the past.
The employees and workers were determined that it should not be privatised and they should evince the same spirit in saving the corporation by avoiding the strike, he urged.
