Amreli court summons Vala
Ahmedabad, Oct 4 (UNI) An Amreli court has summoned the BJP state president Vajubhai Vala and BJP incharge of Amreli district Kiritsinh Rana and Amreli election officer Ashwin Anandani tomorrow in a case filed by seven supporters of Keshubhai Patel.
The seven members had challenged the recent appointments of presidents to various talukas in Amreli district in the election held in September 2006 end. They have alleged in court that the BJP has violated the party constitution favouring the Modi faction.
Two dissident BJP members also filed a suit in a Rajkot court yesterday over constitutional validity of the constituted booth committe and ward committee elections of the BJP.
Rift between two factions came to the fore yesterday as two dissident BJP members Prabhatbhai Dangar and Jagdishbhai Gohel filed the suit in the court of Civil Judge P M Davda that the elections were not undertaken as per constitutional norms by the Election officers of the BJP for the Booth Committee and Ward Committee (organisational elections). They demanded that the elections be rejected. The suit was filed against BJP chiefs Vajubhai Vala, Ranchhodbhai Rabari, Sandhyaben Vyas and Vibhavari ben.
