Accused in HPCPMT case sent to 14 days judicial remand

Shimla, Oct 4 (UNI) A local court today sent one of the accused in the Himachal Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (HPCMPT) paper leak case, Muneer Alam, to 14 days judicial remand, police sources said.

Alam was already under police custody and interrogations were on to establish his role in the scam.

The sources said Muneer, one of the main accused who escorted the parents and their wards to different places and arranged test papers for them, was serving in the Central Labour Enforcement Department at Shimla and was absconding since investigations in the paper leak began.

The police had arrested him a few days ago when he had come here to seek bail from a local court, the sources said.

The police team probing the matter had been able to get vital clues from him, sources said, adding that it was only through him that they were able to get information about the mastermind of the paper scam.
