Rs 5 lakh worth of high tension power cable burgled

Mahoba, Oct 3 (UNI) Burglars made away with high tension power cable worth Rs five lakh in Kabrai town of the district, disrupting electricity supply to almost 12 villages.

Police said yesterday that miscreants burgled about 7 km long 33 kva high tension power cable on the Kanpur-Sagar national highway.

This is the sixth such incident in the last 10 months, in which burglars decamped with high tension cables and have remained untraced so far.

Power department sources claim losses worth almost Rs one crore have been caused due to such thefts this year alone.
