Meghalaya to have victory on major cardiac diseases

Shillong, Oct 03 (UNI) Shillong will host the three-day 7th annual conference of Northeast Cardiological Society of India commencing on October 6.

The meeting will discuss major cardiac issues with session on acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, preventive cardiology and rheumatic heart diseases.

This meeting will bring the cardiologists of northeast India under the same umbrella.

''As we are aware that the cardiac-related diseases are increasing day by day, we have to formulate new strategies most suited to the northeast state, having lack of manpower, resources, specialised medical facility,'' doctors said here today.

The meeting will address the needs of the people from this region in particular.

Prominent cardiologists from New Delhi, Kolkata, and other part of the country will participate in the conference.
