Jr women off to disastrous start, lose to China , Vietnam
Chennai, Oct 3 (UNI) India made a disastrous start losing the first two matches tamely to China and Vietnam in the 13th Asian Junior Women Volleyball championship at Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand.
According to the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) Secretary General K Murugan, China outplayed the junior women in the first match 25-8, 25-10, 25-9 while Vietnam also trounced them in three sets, winning 27-25, 25-10, 25-18 in the first two round robin league matches.
In other matches hosts Thailand were off to a good start defeating Sri Lanka 25-11, 25-7, 25-9 and New Zealand 25-13, 25-9, 25-11, in three sets.
Japan's junior women also won their first two matches, first defeating Australia 25-12, 25-14, 25-13 and Singapore 25-11,2 5-3, 25-9.
