Italy police take Turkish hijackers off plane-agency

ROME, Oct 3 (Reuters) Italian police are taking the two Turkish hijackers who forced an airliner to land in Italy in protest at an upcoming visit by Pope Benedict off the plane in the southern town of Brindisi, Ansa news agency reported.

Earlier reports said one crew member, a co-pilot, had left the plane and there was conflicting information about whether the passengers had begun to disembark.
