BCCI to bid for ICC's global events from 2007-2015

Mumbai, Oct 2 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India in its recent annual general body meeting held here have decided to bid for the rights of all the events to be held by the ICC for the next eight years upto 2015 including two editions of the World Cup.

BCCI vice President Lalit Modi said that they had decided to bid for the rights of the ICC's global events from 2007 to 2015.

The BCCI has already been successful in marketing the rights for the game conducted by it for the next four years to a record 612 million dollars.

The ICC's existing 550-million-dollar deal with Global Cricket Corporation ends at the conclusion of the forthcoming World Cup in the West Indies.

Meanwhile, the BCCI's office bearers are meeting here tomorrow to discuss the Members Participation Agreement of the ICC for the period from 2007-08 to 2015 which the AGM had already rejected unanimously in its current form.

The BCCI had reservations about quite a number of clauses in the MPA that has been sent to it for signing by the ICC and decided to constitute a committee to study it.
