Steps to be initiated to strengthen coop banks: Kadam

Sangli, Maharashtra, Oct 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Patangrao Kadam today assured that the State Government will soon initiate steps to strengthen the cooperative banks and credit societies.

Mr Kadam was speaking at a function organised by a co-operative credit society on the occasion of its silver jubilee celebrations.

The function was presided over by State Legislative Council chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh.

The government-appointed Vaidyanathan committee, which undertook a study to determine the causes behind the bad state of the cooperative banks, has submitted its report which will be placed before the State Cabinet for necessary action, Mr Kadam informed.
