Oman Air signs deal with Air Deccan
Dubai, Oct 1: Oman Air's engineering and maintenance division has signed a technical service agreement to provide heavy base maintenance work for Air Deccan's ATR 42-500 fleet.
The first Air Deccan aircraft arrived at the company hangar to undergo a major check, estimated to take two weeks.
The contract was awarded in recognition of the high international standards of workmanship employed by the engineering division of Oman Air, a statement said.
''Our high standard and competent services will increase third party handling business opportunities and the company's source of revenue,'' a company official said.
Depending on the outcome of an Air Deccan review, Oman Air expects to obtain more business from Air Deccan pertaining to the ATR72, a superior engine to the ATR 42-500, he said.
