MES Cricket Club defeats Agra School by two wickets
Patiala, Oct 1 (UNI) In a low scoring match, MES Cricket Club (Black Elephant), Patiala, defeated Agra Schools, Agra, by two wickets in the Punjab Today Foundation Cup Cricket Tournament (Under-14) at the MES ground here today.
Agra Schools won the toss and scored 109 in 45 overs. Amit Pachora played a useful knock of 38 which was studded with four boundaries. Ravi with 17 was the only other batsman to keep together the innings. For MES, Kohinoor Kalia captured two wickets, giving away 24 runs, while S S Banga took three for three in a fine spell.
MES, in reply, scored 110 for eight in 45.4 overs to carve out victory.
Abhinav Mehta played a fine innings of 28 and K P Singh contributed 17 to clinch the issue in favour of MES. For Agra Schools, Ayush took two wickets, giving away eight runs and Yash also captured two wickets, conceding 13 runs.
The final is billed for tomorrow between MES Cricket Club and Dronacharya Cricket Foundation, Delhi, at MES ground.
