Indians in Gulf welcome extension to submit PAN by Dec 31
Dubai, Oct 1(UNI) Indian expatriates in Gulf countries have welcomed the decision to extend the last date for submission of Permanent Account Number (PAN) to December 31.
Earlier, the National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) had asked NRI investors to provide PAN on or before September 30 or risk suspension of their accounts.
Under the new NSDL directive, investors are required to submit a copy of their PAN card (which carries the investor's picture) to their depository participant (the bank or any other agency where the investor holds the dematerialised account) before the end of calendar year 2006.
