Heavy rains to mar Dussehra celebrations

Indore, Oct 1 (UNI) Heavy rains are expected to play a spoilsport in Dussehra celebrations here this year with most effigies of Ravana being severely damaged.

Heavy rains during last night and this afternoon had cast cloud over burning of Ravana effigy tomorrow evening.

Several effigies were in a battered condition and at least at one place the upper portion had been blown away. The effigies were repaired but today's rainfall was expected to play a spoilsport.

According to weather department, the city received 9.1 mm rainfall overnight.

Organisers were worried over last minute rainfall during the time of effigy burning.
