DoNER to tap trade potentials of NE
Aizawl, Oct 1 (UNI) A blue-print on the NE trade and investment creation initiative will be finalised within June 2007 rpt 2007 after consultation with the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the Planning Commission by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) here.
''The technical assistance from the Asian Development Bank seeks to develop a trade and investment framework, which would enable the NE region to position itself to participate in global and regional markets and reap considerable gains from specialisation, agglomeration of economies and globalisation,'' DoNER ministry sources said here today.
The project seeks to build on the locational advantatges of the NE region and Nepal.
Project also aims to identify policies, legal and constitutional constraints hampering trade and develop an export facility, the sources added.
