CM clarifies on cases withdrawn by Haryana government

Panipat, Oct 1 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today clarified that the state government has withdrawn cases against only those people against whom cases had been registered by the previous government with malicious intentions.

The Chief Minister stated this while interacting with the mediapersons after inaugurating the Gandhi Memorial Library and Gandhi Memorial Park here. He also paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

In reply to a question, Mr Hooda said the state was not suffering from labour-crisis and Haryana was the first state of the country where labour policy had been implemented.

He said tenders had been invited for the construction of Panipat District Secretariat and the construction work of the same will begin soon.

Replying to a question regarding deduction in the interest rates in the agricultural sector, he said he had raised the demand for reducing the interest rates on the loans given for agricultural purposes in the recently concluded Chief Ministers' Conclave at Nainital.

He said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi had taken keen interest in this issue.

The Government of India had also constituted a committee for looking into the matter.

Mr Hoopa said he had also raised the demand for providing incentives to Co-operative banks on the pattern of other banks as 60 per cent of the loans provided to these banks were being given by NABARD.
