Bajaj motorcycles sales increases by 50% in Sept
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Overwhelmed with the acceptance of its new products and high effectiveness of its marketing and sales initiatives, Bajaj motorcycles today announced a 50 per cent increase in sales at 2,71,377 units in September as against 1,80,926 units during the corresponding month last year.
The company's estimated market share also scaled a new high of 37.9 per cent.
Its total two and three wheeler sales for September 2006 were at a record 3,00,141 units; registering a growth of 38 per cent over 218,012 units of September 2005.
It sold 1,21,521 units of high end motorcycles -- Discover, Pulsar and Avenger -- constituting 45 per cent of motorcycle sales, while 27,870 units of 3-wheelers were sold, up 21 per cent over 23,118 units sold during the corresponding month last year.
A total of 37,088 units have been exported, posting a growth of 58 per cent over 23,463 units of September 2005.
