230 taken ill due to food poison

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh Oct 1 (UNI) About 230 persons including 100 children took ill after consumsing suspected poisonous pudding in a Church festival at modukuru village in this district last evening.

Sources said they were rushed to the hospitals at Ponnuru, Tenali and Bapatla towns here.

About 1,000 devotees, who attended the festival were served with food packets, but 230 of them became ill after eating the stuff.

Doctors, however, said the patients were out of danger, the sources added.
