Minor killed, 2 injured in factional clash in Zunheboto

Kohima, Sep 30 (UNI) In the continuing clashes between rival NSCN factions, a minor was killed and two others were seriously injured, including one NSCN (K) cadre near here at Zunheboto.

The four year old boy along with his aunt was killed when stray bullets hit him during the cross-firings between the factions, sources said.

His aunt was also seriously injured.

The clash started when a group of NSCN (K) cadres attacked an NSCN(I-M) group camping atop a hill near Zunheboto town.

One NSCN-IM cadre was reportedly captured by the NSCN (K) cadres but was later released unharmed, sources said.

The NSCN-IM cadres fled away soon after the incident, sources said.

Meanwhile, the two factions have blamed each other for the death of the minor.

An irate mob at Zunheboto demonstrated a massive public rally yesterday and condemned the spurt in factional violence in the district.

The district administration had offered Rs 10,000 to the family of the victim, sources said.
