Finals of P L Deshpande Trophy drama competition at Akluj in Nov

Thane, Sep 20 (UNI) The final round of the state-level 'P L Deshpande Trophy' drama competition will be held on November 10 and 11 this year at Akluj in Malshiras taluka of Solapur district.

The competition is being organized by the state unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Chief organiser of the competition Nilesh Chavan gave details of the competition to reporters at a news conference here today.

Two winners each from five divisions of Vidarbha, Nashik, Marathwada, Konkan and Pune will participate in the finals.

The competition for Konkan division will be held from November five to seven, at Chiplun and more than 30 to 35 teams will participate in the event. The best drama will receive a cash award of Rs 10,000 besides the trophy and the first and second runner-ups will receive Rs 5,000 and 3,000 respectively.

The winner of the finals will get a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a trophy followed by Rs 31,000 and Rs 21,000 cash awards for the first and second runner-ups respectively. There would be cash prizes for best artist, best child artist and director, writer, music, lighting and make-up, Mr Chavan added.
