MPCC lauds decision to make ''Lage Raho Munnabhai'' tax-free

Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has welcomed the decision of the State Government to declare ''Lage Raho Munnabhai'' tax free.

A delegation, led by MPCC spokesman Hussain Dalwai and general secretary Nitin Deshpande, met Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh this afternoon and thanked him for the same.

Mr Dalwai said the weapon of non-violence preached by Gandhiji is extremely relevant in today's times. ''Killers of the Father of Nation could not erase his thoughts and teachings. The film has brought Gandhism back into focus among today's youth. The decision of the government to make the film tax free on the occasion of Shaheed Bhagat Singh's birth centenary yesterday was a good coincidence,'' he added.

''After Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, it is for the first time that the country is buzzing with talk about Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings,'' he said and urged Mr Deshmukh to take up with the Centre the issue of declaring the film tax free in the entire country.
