Mishra comes to the rescue of CM on Haj House issue

Jaipur, Sep 29 (UNI) BJP party incharge of Rajasthan Kailash Mishra today came to the rescue of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje who was under attack from the Sangh Pariwar for laying the foundation of the Haj House at Ramsinghpura.

''The Chief Minister has done nothing wrong by laying the foundation stone of the Haj House,'' Mr Mishra said.

Ramsinghpura, under Sanganeer tehsil in Jaipur, is a predominently Hindu dominated area, where the foundation stone for the Haj House was laid on September 20.

The foundation laying ceremony was marred by violent protests by the Sangh Pariwar activists with open support of Cabinet Minister Ganshaym Tiwari.

Mr Mishra, while talking to mediapersons at the state party office after attending a function here today denied that he was deputed by the party central leadership to report on the issue.

''I am the party incharge of Rajasthan and this visit was planned earlier,'' he said.

When asked whether he would discuss the issue of Haj House which has created a wedge between the Chief minister and the Sangh Pariwar in the state, he said, ''I will discuss all issues including the 'burning issues' with all parties and find an amicable solution.'' Mr Mishra said the government would have no role in the construction of the Haj House. He further added that the government will not spend any money for the construction of the Haj House.

Asked if the controversy was only on the site of the proposed Haj House, he said the decision for the construction of the Haj House was taken two years back and the Chief Minister has laid the foundation stone.

On being questioned if the opposition by the area MLA and Education Minister Ganshaym Tiwari was politically motivated, he replied ''You can draw your own conclusions''.

Mr Mishra said he spoke to the VHP leader Ashok Singhal over the phone and he had fully supported the Chief Minister on the issue.

Asked about the statement of VHP General Secretary Praveen Togadia contradicting Mr Singhal, he quipped ''Don't go by the statements in the press.'' He said the issue was more of a propaganda and less of substance.
