Lok Ayukta to conduct auditing of all government departments
Bangalore, Sept 29 (UNI) Karnataka Lok Ayukta Justice Santosh Hegde today said that it was proposed to conduct auditing of all the government departments beginning with Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) to bring transparency in utilisation of the funds.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that RDPR was the biggest beneficiary of the State and Central funds for taking up development works in the state.
He said that the Lok Ayutka as part of its proactive role had decided to conduct the auditing of the departments with its own officials following several complaints received from the public about the disbursement and uitilisation of the funds.
The Lok Ayukta officials would also conduct the auditing in the Local Self Government department followed by the other departments in phasewise, he added.
